Sarah Gardner

Senior Policy Analyst. Special subjects: environmental economics, ecology and agriculture

Sarah joined IEEP in October 2009. She works at the interface of ecology and economics and has a particular interest in evaluating economic policy instruments for conserving biodiversity and ecosystem services. Since joining IEEP, Sarah has contributed to work on the opportunity costs of EU biodiversity policy, benefit assessments of environmental protection and EU agri-environment policy. Sarah is trained as a scientist (PhD in agricultural ecology) and has an MSc in Environmental Economics. She was formerly a Principal Research Scientist at ADAS Ltd where her work contributed to the science base underpinning the development and implementation of UK agri-environment schemes and the evaluation of the biodiversity impacts of different farming systems.
