Profile:
Marianne joined IEEP in 2005. She has a Masters degree in ecology and she is specialised in issues related to conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. Marianne’s current research interests include, for example, the socio-economic benefits of biodiversity and ecosystem services, financing biodiversity conservation (e.g. the costs of Natura 2000 Network) and the EU framework for invasive alien species. She has worked on diverse projects both within and outside the EU and she also has interest and experience in development projects related to biodiversity.
Marianne is currently located in Helsinki as a guest researcher at the Finnish Natural Environment Centre.
